Vinyasa is a sanskrit word literally meaning “to place in a special way”. In yoga classes, vinyasa is thought of as a flow or series of linked poses. Often the poses are held briefly and the focus is on the breath rather than precise alignment. Of course, alignment is still important, but the attention rests with the breath as a way to concentrate the mind.
I will be teaching a 2 hour standing pose vinyasa class this Sunday, June 12 at Studio Z Yoga. For more information, or to sign up, please contact me.
