I recently returned from a yoga teacher training in Portland, Oregon. The 5 days in the studio with two of my favorite teachers was an opportunity for which I am truly grateful. Having time away from my daily routine offered its own teachings. Without my “normal” obligations, I was able to spend time walking through city gardens and neighborhoods and breath in the freshness that surrounded me.
In the workshop we focused on how to teach therapeutically and what it means to be a yoga teacher. Therapeutic yoga facilitates a deeper connection with the self and the world around us. Through practice we can learn to peel away the obstacles that keep us from remembering, and connecting with, our innate wisdom.
Seek teachings from everywhere and don’t forget to stop, breath and enjoy the beauty that is both around and within us all.
